SPROUT A New Food Source

Having fresh food at your fingertips IS attainable, no matter how big or small your residence is. I get that not everyone has the ability to live in a location with a long growing season (greetings from NY!). I get that not everyone has the ability to dig up a patch in their yard for a garden. I get that not everyone has a bunch of free time or resources. But all you need to sprout your own nutritious greens are seeds, water, a jar, and a screened lid.

No matter where you live, you likely have a cabinet and a window. With the way the world is hurting, I think everyone could use a moment of feeling accomplished. I am a big advocate that growing food may be a great hobby, provides. nutritious food, teaches a skill, keeps your food local but with all that being said, I think the greatest value comes from. the pride you get from a harvest.

WHY DO I LOVE GROWING THEM?

-Take up almost NO space

-Not many specialized materials/supplies

-Very little time requirement each day

-Cost effective (8oz are under $15)--you only use a few tablespoons at a time!

In this post I have included links to sites others have created on getting started with your own sprouts as well as some ideas on how to consume them. As with everything, always DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH.

Will sprouts be able to be your only food source? No. But I can almost guarantee that you will feel accomplished and happier when you get to enjoy your hard work. Best wishes! If you decide to try them out, be sure to send me an email at evergreenthoughtco@gmail.com or tag me on Instagram @evergreenthoughtco
